FAQs

Got questions? Good.

Everything you need to know before your first draw.

What is DrawMate?

A patent-pending draw trainer built around the twist, the dig that decides who wins the ball. It clamps onto a post, holds your stick head on a spring-loaded shaft, and twists back like a live opponent.

How does it work?

Squeeze the clamp onto a standard post or lacrosse goal. Attach your stick head to the universal shaft and twist it 90° until it clicks and locks. Set the ball between your head and DrawMate's and push in: the lock releases and the torsion spring now pushes against you. Win the twist and the ball flies; ease off and DrawMate unwinds and keeps it.

Why focus on the twist instead of moving up and down?

Because the twist is where draws are won. The dig, rotating your head over the ball against your opponent's pressure, decides who gets possession; the lift just sends the ball. DrawMate isolates that one move so every rep trains it, the same way a batting tee isolates a swing. Fewer moving parts also means it clamps on in seconds instead of sitting on a heavy floor platform.

Do I need my own stick head?

Yes, and that's the point. You train with the exact head and pocket you draw with in games, so the feel carries straight over. It attaches to DrawMate's universal shaft.

Who designed it?

An MIT engineer who plays NCAA women's lacrosse. She built it around the move that decides the draw, with her teammates who take the draw in mind.

Is it patented?

DrawMate is patent pending.

Where is it made?

100% made in the USA, in Florida, Kentucky, and Texas.

Who is it for?

Girls' lacrosse players at every level, from youth club players learning the draw to high school and college draw specialists.

What does it attach to?

Any standard post or lacrosse goal post. Squeeze the clamp and it's on. No stakes, no weight plates, nothing permanent.

How big is it?

About 8 inches on each side and just 3 lb. Carry it in one hand, toss it in the car, and clamp it on anywhere.

How much is it?

See the current price on the product page. Shipping is always free.

How can I pay?

Credit or debit card, Apple Pay, Google Pay, or PayPal. Eligible buyers can also choose PayPal Pay Later at checkout to split the cost into payments.
